Estimator – Construction Project Manager

Working hours : Daytime, Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week
Main functions :
Reporting to the Construction Director, the Estimator – Project Manager is responsible for the schedule, budget, and quality of the buildings under their charge.
- Develop, optimize, and adhere to work budgets;
- Develop, optimize, and adhere to work schedules in collaboration with the foreman;
- Conduct inspections and follow up on deficiencies;
- Extract project information and provide detailed quantity take-offs of materials and required time;
- Adhere to plans, specifications, addenda, and change requests;
- Analyze received bids and award subcontracting contracts;
- Coordinate site supervision with professionals;
- Participate in site meetings;
- Ensure follow-up on technical questions with subcontractors and the internal team;
- Collaborate in keeping price lists related to estimates up to date;
- Collaborate with professionals and the internal team in the optimal design of new projects;
- Responsible for detecting conflicts between professional plans;
- Keep administrative documentation up to date on the management platform;
- Perform any other tasks related to the smooth operation of the department and projects.
Skills and requirements :
- Diploma or certificate in a related field (DEC, AEC, or BAC) in engineering, building estimation and evaluation, architecture, or a related field;
- Experience in construction and excavation cost estimation (an asset);
- Knowledge of industry software, such as BIM 360, Revit, Autocad, etc.;
- Understanding of construction principles, building codes, construction materials, and construction methods;
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications, perform on-site measurements, accurately estimate labor and material costs, and prepare detailed bids;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary for interacting with clients, suppliers, contractors, and internal team members.
