An Essential Need
In Estrie, more than 1,000 people living with an intellectual disability are currently waiting for supervised housing services adapted to their needs. This issue is even more pressing due to the historically low vacancy rate, which exacerbates the urgency of the situation.
Maison Marc-Antoine aims to address this need by leading the construction of a building in Sherbrooke, which is currently underway and will be ready in the fall of 2024. This building will include eleven affordable housing units capable of accommodating up to 17 people in a space fully adapted to the needs of individuals living with mental health issues, intellectual disabilities, and any other functional or intellectual limitations affecting their ability to adapt to daily life.
Constructions Morin in Association with Monchénou
The beautiful and ambitious Maison Marc-Antoine project is becoming a reality thanks to the partnership between Constructions Morin and Monchénou, who are combining their expertise and skills to offer a meaningful, stimulating, and adapted living environment for people with various functional limitations and at risk of social isolation.
Since 1985, the Monchénou branch of Groupe Probex has been providing housing services dedicated to people with various functional limitations. The organization stands out for its model, which allows residents to truly be the hosts of their homes and to engage in a meaningful life project.
A Project in Development
The project is overseen by a team with many years of experience in construction and property management, as well as in providing support to this type of clientele.
The ultimate goal of the project is to improve the quality of life for people living with various limitations by creating adapted, supervised, affordable, and stimulating living environments where residents truly feel at home and can thrive according to their daily abilities. This gives them the opportunity to develop their autonomy and feel useful and valued.
